Join us in our mission to make a lasting difference in the lives of these children and young adults. iLevelUP, an innovative initiative under Believe in Me, is seeking a Volunteer UX Researcher to gather insights from users to inform design decisions and improve the app’s usability. In this role, you will conduct user research, testing, and analysis to provide valuable feedback that helps shape the user experience, ensuring that the iLevelUP app is accessible, intuitive, and user-friendly for first-generation college students.
UX Researcher Key Responsibilities
- User Research: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of first-generation college students.
- Usability Testing: Plan, execute, and analyze usability tests to gather feedback on prototypes, new features, and overall app functionality.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Collect user feedback through interviews, surveys, and observational studies, analyzing the data to identify patterns and insights.
- Report Findings: Create detailed reports of research findings, presenting key insights to design and development teams to inform user-centered design decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and developers to ensure user research directly informs the design and development process.
- Iterative Improvement: Continuously refine and improve research methods and testing processes to ensure high-quality insights for ongoing app development.
- Accessibility & Inclusivity: Ensure research accounts for a diverse range of users, prioritizing accessibility and inclusivity in all findings and recommendations.
UX Researcher Qualifications
- Proven experience in user research, usability testing, or UX design with a focus on gathering user insights.
- Proficiency in research methods such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate user feedback into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting research findings to cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or similar, and experience working with design and development teams.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with educational or nonprofit platforms.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and how they impact user research.
- Experience using UX research tools such as Optimal Workshop, UsabilityHub, or similar.
