Join us in our mission to make a lasting difference in the lives of these children and young adults. iLevelUP, an innovative initiative under Believe in Me, is seeking a talented Volunteer Software Engineer to engage in coding, testing, and debugging to enhance the app’s overall functionality and scalability. In this role, you will work on the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with a team to build a reliable, user-friendly app that supports first-generation college students.
Software Engineer Key Responsibilities
- Software Development: Execute the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
- Coding & Debugging: Write clean, testable code, troubleshoot bugs, and upgrade existing systems to improve performance.
- Integration & Testing: Integrate software components and develop verification and quality assurance procedures.
- Documentation: Document software functionality and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers, developers, and product managers to ensure smooth development and alignment with project goals
Software Engineer Qualifications
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java.
- Experience with front-end or back-end development and frameworks like Node.js, React, or MERN.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, databases (NoSQL, MongoDB), and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for coding and software improvement.
