Game and UX Researcher Key Responsibilities
- Plan ethical research that evaluates usability, engagement, comprehension, and accessibility for approved game or learning experiences.
- Define research questions, participant criteria, methods, scripts, and success measures before data collection.
- Conduct or support moderated and unmoderated studies using approved consent and privacy procedures.
- Analyze observations and aggregate findings without making unsupported claims or exposing participant identities.
- Translate evidence into prioritized, actionable recommendations for design, content, and product collaborators.
- Document limitations, decisions, and follow-up questions in a clear research repository.
Game and UX Researcher Qualifications
- Experience with UX research, game research, usability testing, learning research, or comparable human-centered evaluation.
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and when each method is appropriate.
- Ability to create neutral research questions, synthesize evidence, and distinguish findings from assumptions.
- Understanding of informed consent, privacy, accessibility, and responsible research with potentially vulnerable audiences.
- Strong facilitation, analytical writing, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work with de-identified or aggregate data and follow approved retention requirements.
