Join us in our mission to make a lasting difference in the lives of these children and young adults. iLevelUP, a visionary initiative under Believe in Me, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Volunteer Investment Analyst to assist in evaluating and managing our portfolio of alternative investments. This role involves researching, recommending, and monitoring investments in private equity, private credit, real estate, and other alternative asset classes. You will play a critical role in supporting all aspects of the alternative investments program, from research and portfolio monitoring to reporting and financial modeling.
Investment Analyst Key Responsibilities
- Investment Research: Conduct in-depth research on various investment-related topics, evaluating potential opportunities in alternative investments.
- Portfolio Evaluation & Modeling: Perform financial modeling and peer benchmarking to assess strategic and opportunistic investments. Provide recommendations based on analysis.
- Performance Monitoring: Conduct quarterly reviews of alternative investments, analyzing both quantitative and qualitative performance metrics.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare reports on portfolio performance and assist in forecasting future trends and opportunities.
- Special Projects: Support senior management with special projects related to alternative investments, including ad-hoc analysis and financial modeling.
Investment Analyst Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or degree candidate in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Interest in finance and investments, with a basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for using empirical data to make informed decisions.
- Ability to work closely with senior management and collaborate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, charting, and graphing, with advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with investment research tools such as PitchBook and Capital IQ is a plus.
- Experience with G-Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail, Google Drive) and the ability to learn new research and analysis tools.
