About iLevelUP
iLevelUP is a free, AI-powered, game-based learning experience being developed by Believe in Me to help young people explore education and career possibilities and build self-confidence. The product is in limited beta. The learner is the main character, and iLevelUP is the guide.
Development and marketing role overview
The official role is VP of Development and Marketing. As an iLevelUP development and marketing volunteer leader, you will coordinate priorities across fundraising, communication, student engagement, and technology contributors. The role reports to executive leadership.
You will work with the relevant team to agree on priorities, review progress, and document decisions. Because the product is still developing, clear handoffs and useful feedback matter.
What you will own
Your contribution centers on the responsibilities below. First, understand the current work and the needs of your collaborators. Next, agree on a manageable scope with the team lead. Then, share progress and raise blockers early. Finally, document the decisions that your teammates need for the next step.
Development and marketing responsibilities
- First, agree on annual and quarterly priorities with executive leadership.
- Coordinate development and marketing contributors across fundraising, outreach, student engagement, and technology work.
- Build a shared roadmap for storytelling, giving campaigns, sponsor stewardship, and platform improvements.
- Work with designated contributors on donor cultivation, content calendars, and consistent brand communication.
- Review campaign measures and feedback, then explain what they mean for the next decision.
- Coordinate responsible donor and learner data practices with the relevant technical owners.
- Host biweekly team meetings and help contributors manage goals, dependencies, and follow-up.
- Finally, document progress, decisions, and risks for leadership review.
Early deliverables
- First, review the current marketing and fundraising work and identify useful next steps with your team lead.
- Next, agree on an initial deliverable, its review criteria, and the people who need to contribute.
- Finally, complete a reviewable piece of work and document what the next contributor needs to know.
Development and marketing required qualifications
- At least five years of leadership experience in nonprofit marketing, fundraising, or digital engagement.
- A record of leading cross-functional creative and technical teams.
- Project management and campaign planning skills.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, donor platforms, Google Analytics, and marketing tools.
- Commitment to equity, youth empowerment, and inclusive storytelling.
- A valid driver’s license and completion of the background check and youth protection training listed for this role.
Development and marketing helpful experience
- Experience coordinating fundraising, communication, and technical contributors is useful to share.
- Examples of clear goals, reporting, and coaching can show how you lead a volunteer team.
