Role Overview As a Volunteer Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing data systems for the iLevelUP app, a technology-driven platform aimed at supporting first-generation college students. Data Engineer Key Responsibilities

• Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
• Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices for data integrity, security, and accessibility.
• Develop data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production.
• Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Data Engineer Qualifications

• Proven experience as a data engineer, software developer, or similar role, with a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other programming languages commonly used in data engineering.
• Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.) and data pipeline and workflow management tools.
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) and understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
